About Us
The Lincoln-Douglas Society is a student-led organization dedicated to fostering free speech, civil discourse, and professionalism within the law school community. Through structured debates on timely and often controversial issues, we challenge students to sharpen their advocacy skills, think deeply about complex topics, and engage respectfully with differing perspectives.

Our debates are designed not only to showcase rigorous argumentation, but also to highlight the value of nuance, creativity, and humor in exploring ideas. Each event is open to all students and community members, regardless of background or experience, and is followed by a reception for informal discussion and community-building.

At its core, the Society exists to create a space where people can test their reasoning, develop their opinions, and participate in the tradition of debate that has long shaped public life and the legal profession.
